Description:The incumbent is responsible for the overall supervision of the design engineering team. Duties include: Provides leadership and guidance to the design engineering team. Reports progress and accomplishments of the design engineering team. Produces requirements, specifications and interface descriptions for operational test instrumentation. Produces studies and papers explaining and exploring environmental, shock, vibration and thermal requirements for operational test instrumentation. Develops and executes performance acceptance testing processes and procedures. Produces technical drawings in Pro-E, SOLIDWORKS or AutoCAD. Works with drafting and documentation staff to assure completeness and accuracy of technical documentation. Provides guidance to drafters to assure drawing specifics are in compliance with MIL-STD-100. Provides input (SEMP, IRS, SSS, SSDS, etc.) to engineering technical packages under the provisions of MIL-STD 498. Participates in studies and the analysis of instrument methodology studies. Participates in the Configuration Control Board meetings. Performs and documents studies and future technologies of interest in operational testing.

Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, plus five (5) years experience in developing test instrumentation. This position also require experience using Pro-E, SOLIDWORKS or AutoCAD, working with military standards such as MIL-STD-100 and MIL-STD-498, and configuration control management experience. May be able to substitute experience for education. Must have a current DoD security clearance or have the ability to attain one. Must be able to travel. In addition the incumbent must be able to: Lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 50 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 25 pounds. Wear a Kevlar Helmet for one hour or more per work day. Climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment. Travel for extended periods (up to six months). Work varying shifts in a 24 hour period. Respond to changes in work schedules, overtime, and off-hours call-ins. Abide by all RAM and Range rules and regulations. Maintain a safe work record.
