Description:Provides computer programming for software programs controlling real-time operations, collecting data, and analyzing data. Uses structured (modular) programming and object oriented design to generate code; test and verify individual and system modules; and document the work. Obtains information from users to modify routine programs. Evaluates simple interrelationships in routine programs. Analyzes a single activity or routine problem when the nature of the program, feasibility, and type of computer language and equipment has already been determined. Prepares and maintains application software programs and documentation for existing instrumentation computers. Attends technical coordination meetings and briefings. Participates in software configuration meetings. Follows established procedures to ensure compliance with quality, safety and security standards. Performs other duties which may include: Accomplishing assigned tasks in closely related fields. Participating in formal, on-the-job and cross-training. Serving as a participating member on a quality team. Provides software services programming to support external device controls. Creates software life cycle documentation under the provisions of MIL-STD-498. Works with drafting and documentation staff to assure completeness and accuracy of technical documentation. Develops and executes performance acceptance testing processes and procedures. Provides input (SEMP, IRS, SSS, SSDS, etc.) to engineering technical packages under the provisions of MIL-STD 498. Participates in studies and the analysis of instrument methodology studies. Participates in the Configuration Control Board meetings. Performs and documents studies and future technologies of interest in operational testing.

Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, plus two (2) years of coding real-time applications or database management systems. Experience should include creating programs that execute functions such as input/output of data acquisition; input/output device drivers; hardware circuit board testing and checkout; command and control of sensors; numerical data analysis and transformation in real-time; digital video displays; analog-to-digital conversions; database user interfaces; and database creation and reporting routines. This position also requires an expert user of Microsoft NET, C+ or C++; working with Linux, Unix, POSIX or other real-time operating systems. Travel for extended periods (up to six months). Work varying shifts in a 24 hour period. Respond to changes in work schedules, overtime, and off-hours call-ins. Abide by all RAM and Range rules and regulations. Maintain a safe work record.
Must have a current DoD Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
